Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who is currently fighting with the Flyweight Division in the UFC. She's older than her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai boxer. Her debut was in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina kept her winning streak going by winning a silver and bronze medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, a Gold medal in 2011 as well as the 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimous decision. Antonina Schevchenko set professional MMA records in 2002 when she fought Anara Bazanova during the KFK Championship of Kyrgystan. She took the win via a second round TKO followed by two more bouts at the WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA so that she could focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her return with a win against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa in an unanimous decision. She went on to knock out Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina defeated Nievera by her impressive striking ability in the final clinch by using knees on the body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following this victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut UFC during her debut at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting match against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina returned to the ring after her loss and beat Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. This fight earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko was 2-2 over her next three bouts which included a win against Ariane Lipski while being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
